1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Digital Detox Japan website ("Site") and the trip planning and English support services ("Services") provided by Digital Detox Japan ("we," "us," "our"). By purchasing a plan, you agree to these Terms in full.
Digital Detox Japan is independently operated by an individual owner in Japan as a sole proprietorship (not an incorporated company).
2. Nature of Services
Digital Detox Japan is a trip planning and English support service. Our service consists of: recommending places to stay and visit, explaining in English how to book them, preparing English-language guides and resources, and providing email support before and during your trip.
We are not a travel agency and do not make reservations. We do not book, pay for, change, or cancel accommodation or transport on your behalf, and we do not contact properties to make reservations for you. You make every booking yourself, directly with the property or booking platform, and your contract for the stay is between you and that provider.
We are not the venue operator and are not responsible for the facilities, safety standards, availability, prices, or operations of any venue we recommend. We do not operate on-site and do not provide in-person guiding unless explicitly stated.
3. How the Service Works
After you submit the form, we email you your plan within 48 hours (JST). Response times may be longer during Japanese public holidays.
Our recommendations do not guarantee availability. Rooms may sell out before you book. If that happens, tell us and we will suggest alternatives.
4. Pricing
Requesting a plan is free. Our fee is US$50 per trip. After your trip, we email you a payment link, and you pay by card through Stripe if you are satisfied with our plan and support. You may add an optional tip. We may update pricing for future requests; the price in the link we send you is the price you pay. Accommodation, transport, meals, and venue fees are not included and are paid directly to the providers.
5. Cancellation & Refunds
Please refer to our Cancellation & Refunds Policy for full details. Cancellations of your accommodation follow the property's own policy and are handled directly with the property.
6. Guest Responsibilities
Guests are responsible for: following all campsite rules as outlined in the English PDF guide, treating venue facilities and natural surroundings with respect, arriving with valid travel documents (passport, visa if required), carrying appropriate travel insurance, and adhering to local Japanese regulations and etiquette.
Guests who cause damage to venue property may be liable for repair or replacement costs.
7. Liability Limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Digital Detox Japan is not liable for: loss or damage to personal property, personal injury or illness during activities, disruptions due to weather or natural events, third-party service failures, or indirect losses of any kind. 8. Intellectual Property
All content on this Site — including text, images, guides, and design — is the property of Digital Detox Japan and may not be reproduced without written permission.
9. Privacy
Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Japanese courts.
